Frequently asked questions Can I use third-party cameras with Surveillance365?
It depends on which feature you're using:
  • Camera-to-Cloud: No, this feature is only supported with Synology Camera models. For the full list of compatible models and setup requirements, see this article.
  • Backup Recording from NAS: Yes, Surveillance365 works alongside Surveillance Station on any Synology NAS, supporting both Synology cameras and over 20,000 compatible third-party IP cameras.
    Can I use a microSD card from a third-party brand with Synology Camera when using Surveillance365?

    Yes, but we recommend using a Synology microSD card to ensure optimal compatibility and performance. If you choose a third-party card, we strongly recommend a high-endurance card that the manufacturer explicitly rates for continuous 24/7 surveillance recording, with at least a Class 10 (C10) / UHS-I (U1) / V10 speed rating and a minimum 10 MB/s write speed. Synology does not provide a compatibility list for third-party cards, and their stability and reliability are not guaranteed.
